Too busy for Prayer?

A Call to True Devotion

Beloved, your time reveals your heart. You say Yeshua is first in your life, that you love Him with all your heart, and that you live for His will. Yet when prayer meetings are called, where are you? You say, “I’m too busy.” But the truth is, you are never too busy—you are simply prioritizing something else.

True Devotion Means Making Space for God

Like fasting, prayer meetings should be at inconvenient times to show the Lord they are a true priority. If prayer is only squeezed in when it’s easy, is it truly a sacrifice? Charles Spurgeon once said, “Do not say you have a strong desire for prayer if you will not make time for it.” The presence of God is not found in convenience but in pursuit.

Samuel told Saul,

“Behold, to obey is better than a sacrifice, and to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.”
— 1 Samuel 15:22 (NASB)

You cannot replace obedience with convenience. Do not tell yourself, “I’ll just give more in the offering,” or “I’ll pray extra tomorrow.” God does not want scraps of your schedule. He wants your heart.

Corporate Prayer is Where Revival Begins

The early church did not fit prayer into their busy schedules. They devoted themselves to it.

“All these were continually devoting themselves with one mind to prayer.”
— Acts 1:14 (NASB)

Do you long for revival? Do you want to see Heaven invade Earth? It will not happen without prayer. Leonard Ravenhill wrote, “No man is greater than his prayer life. The church is powerless because prayer is optional.” But to those who seek Him in prayer—He comes.

Have You Grown Cold?

When was the last time you prayed with someone outside your home? When did you last gather with your church to seek His face? Or has prayer become a ritual you perform on Sundays? True prayer is not a duty—it is a cry from the heart.

Yeshua warns,

“Remember from where you have fallen, and repent.”
— Revelation 2:5 (NASB)

If you have grown distant, return. The Lord is waiting for you at the altar.

Will You Answer the Call?

Beloved, will you make space for Him—even when it’s inconvenient? Or will you let another excuse keep you away? The ones who seek Him will find Him. Come to prayer. Seek His face. Let your priorities align with His, and watch what He does.

Prayer for Breaking the Divide Between Protestants and Catholics

Almighty God, El Elyon, the Most High, we come before You in the name of Yeshua, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You alone are sovereign over heaven and earth, and You alone have the power to break the chains that have bound Your Church for generations. Today, we stand in the gap, repenting for the sins that have fueled division, pride, and rebellion against Your will for unity.

Father, we repent. We repent for the arrogance that has caused brothers and sisters to despise one another. We repent for the bloodshed, the betrayals, the excommunications, and the heresies that have been used as weapons instead of calls to repentance. We repent for choosing man-made traditions over the purity of Your Word. We repent for making idols of institutions, for exalting leaders above Your truth, and for allowing the enemy to sow discord among those who are called by Your name. Forgive us, Lord.

In the mighty name of Yeshua, we take authority over every power and principality that has worked to divide Your people. We rebuke the spirit of division, the spirit of pride, and the religious spirits that have blinded generations from seeing the fullness of Your truth.We declare that the chains of deception are broken! No longer will Satan use denominational walls to keep Your Church fragmented and powerless. No longer will misunderstandings and offenses hold back the fire of revival.

Holy Spirit, sweep through the Church with a mighty wind! Tear down every wall, expose every lie, and dismantle every stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Let the only name that is lifted high be the name of Yeshua! Burn away the traditions of men that have replaced Your presence. Let a fresh hunger arise, not for more theological arguments, but for the living God!

Father, we declare victory! What the enemy meant for evil, You are turning for good. You are raising up a generation that will not inherit the sins of their forefathers but will walk in the unity of the Spirit. You are purifying Your Bride, making her ready for the return of Yeshua. We will no longer be known by our divisions, but by our love, by our holiness, and by the fire of revival that cannot be contained!

Now, Lord, finish the work! Pour out a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit over Protestants, Catholics, and all who call upon Your name in truth. May we be one as You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are One (John 17:21). Let the fire of revival sweep through homes, churches, and cities, uniting us under one banner—Yeshua the Messiah!

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. In the mighty name of Yeshua, we pray. Amen!

Stop Playing Church and Return to the Lord

In His mercy, God allows us to live with free will, even when our choices grieve Him. For many of us, this free will leads to “playing church”—going through the motions of faith without truly seeking God’s presence. We attend services, recite prayers, and check religious boxes, but our hearts remain far from Him. This shallow faith breaks God’s heart, yet He waits patiently, calling us to return to Him wholeheartedly. Let us finally stop playing church and seek His presence anew.

The Bible warns us about hollow worship: “These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me” (Matthew 15:8, AMP). Playing church might make us feel comfortable, but it keeps us from the fullness of God’s power and purpose in our lives. The Enemy is perfectly content to see us busy with religious activity, so long as we remain spiritually ineffective.

But the moment we stop playing church and truly seek God, everything changes. When we move beyond rituals and engage in intimate, heartfelt prayer, when we genuinely repent and surrender our distractions and sins, we become vessels for God’s power. It is in this surrender that the Enemy takes notice—because a church that prays, seeks God’s face, and loves others as Christ does becomes a threat to his kingdom.

The Danger of a Shallow Faith

Playing church keeps us stuck in a cycle of empty actions. We feel busy and religious but lack the intimacy with God that transforms our hearts. Jesus reminds us, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21, AMP). Faith is not about appearances; it’s about obedience, love, and surrender. To stop playing church, we must align our hearts with God’s will and seek true intimacy with Him.

This shallow faith is often sustained by distractions and comfortable sins—the things we turn to instead of God. Whether it’s entertainment, pride, or apathy, these idols dull our spiritual hunger. God calls us to strip away these barriers and return to Him fully.

True Faith Requires Wholehearted Devotion

The Lord does not want us to settle for religious routine. He desires relationship. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13, AMP). True faith is an all-consuming pursuit of God. It means surrendering our favorite distractions, abandoning our comfortable sins, and seeking Him with an undivided heart. When we stop simply playing church, we embark on a true journey of faith.

This is not easy. It requires sacrifice and humility. But when we set aside our excuses and truly press into God, we experience His presence in ways we never imagined. Revival begins when the people of God stop playing church and start living as the body of Christ—praying fervently, loving sacrificially, and sharing His gospel boldly.

A Call to Stop Playing Church

Beloved, now is the time to stop playing church, and start living out our faith genuinely. God is calling us to lay down our idols, distractions, and sins and return to Him. Imagine a church where believers gather, not out of obligation, but out of a deep hunger for God’s presence. Imagine spontaneous prayer meetings, where hearts cry out to the Lord without concern for schedules or distractions. Imagine a church so on fire for God that the lost are drawn to Him through our love and witness.

This is what God desires for His people. This is what He calls us to.

Prayer:

Father, we confess that we have often gone through the motions of faith without truly seeking You. Forgive us for playing church, for being distracted by our comforts, and for clinging to sins that hinder our walk with You. We lay these things at the cross and ask You to cleanse us. Ignite in us a hunger for Your presence and a desire to live in obedience to Your will. Teach us to seek You with all our hearts and to bring Your love to the world around us. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
