If David could speak to us today

If young David could speak to us today, his words would likely echo the faith, courage, and unwavering trust in God that defined his life. Trust in God, not in your strength. He might say something like this:

“Do not fear the giants before you—God is greater.”

I was just a shepherd, the youngest in my family, overlooked and underestimated. But God does not choose as men do. When others saw a boy, He saw a king. When others saw weakness, He saw a heart that trusted Him completely.

When I faced Goliath, it was not my strength that won the battle. It was the Lord’s. Trust in God, not in your strength. The world will tell you that your weapons are too small, that you are too weak, that you are not enough. But it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves—it is by His power. If you trust Him, no giant can stand against you.

“Worship is your weapon—never stop praising God.”

Before I was a warrior, I was a worshiper. I sang to the Lord in the fields long before I ever set foot on a battlefield. And I have learned this: when you praise God, darkness flees. When you lift your voice in worship, strongholds break. Therefore, trust in God, not in your strength.

If you are facing battles, do not let fear steal your song. Worship in the storm. Sing in the valley. Lift your voice even when you do not feel strong—because God is always worthy, and He fights for those who praise Him.

“Your heart matters more than your appearance.”

Men look at the outside, but God looks at the heart. I have seen the downfall of mighty warriors and the ruin of kings because their hearts strayed from the Lord. Your victories, your gifts, your position—none of these matter if your heart is not fully His.

Guard your heart. Trust in God, not in your strength. Keep your hands clean and your spirit pure. Let your greatest desire be to dwell in the presence of the Lord all the days of your life. That is the only place where true peace is found.

“Run to God, not away from Him.”

I have failed. I have sinned. I have fallen short. But when I did, I did not hide—I ran back to God. He is merciful. He is faithful. He does not reject the one who repents with a sincere heart.

Do not let shame keep you from Him. Cry out to Him. Return to Him. His love is greater than your worst failure. His grace is deeper than your sin. He is a refuge for the broken.

“Pursue God with everything.”

The greatest battle you will ever fight is not against giants—it is against complacency. Do not settle for a faith that is shallow or a life that is half-hearted. Run after God with everything in you. Love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

I have tasted power, victory, and wealth. But there is nothing greater than the presence of God. No throne, no kingdom, no victory on earth compares to the joy of knowing Him. So, trust in God, not in your strength.

So I ask you today—who will you trust? Whose voice will you listen to? Will you live for yourself, or will you give your life fully to the One who made you?

As for me, I have only one desire:

“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord
And to meditate in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4, NASB)

Seek Him. Trust Him. Worship Him. And watch what He will do through you. Trust in God, not in your strength.

The battle belongs to the Lord.

The Power of God

The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name. – Exodus 15:3 (NASB) This verse reveals the power of God in action. He is not passive or distant—He is a mighty warrior, actively fighting for His people. From the battles of Israel to the spiritual warfare we face today, His strength remains unmatched. When we call on Him, we are not alone; the Lord Himself goes before us, bringing victory in His name.

When we call upon El Gibbor, the Mighty God, we are not praying to a distant deity who is indifferent to our struggles. We are crying out to the Warrior-King who fights on our behalf. His power is beyond measure, and His victories are absolute. The battle belongs to the Lord, and when we seek Him in prayer, He moves mightily in response with the power of God.

God, the Mighty Warrior

The psalmist declares, “Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” (Psalm 24:8, NASB) This is the God to whom we pray—a God who does not lose battles. When we lift our voices to Him, we are not pleading with weakness; we are aligning ourselves with the One who has never known defeat. His triumphs show the power of God.

How often do we forget this truth? We face trials, oppression, and spiritual warfare, yet we act as if we are alone. But we are not alone. The King of Glory stands ready, waiting for His people to cry out so that He may show Himself strong on their behalf.

Are We on the Lord’s Side?

When Joshua stood before Jericho, he encountered a mighty figure with a drawn sword. He asked, “Are You for us or for our enemies?” But the response was clear: “No; rather, I have come now as captain of the army of the Lord.” (Joshua 5:13-14, NASB)

This is a sobering reminder: God does not take sides in human conflicts—we must take His side. He is the Commander of the heavenly armies, and our duty is to align ourselves with Him. Too often, we pray for God to fight for our personal agendas, but true victory comes when we surrender to His will and understand the power of God.

God Gives Victory to His People

Prayer is not merely a religious duty—it is a divine invitation. When we pray, we activate the power of God in our lives. Scripture assures us, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57, NASB)

Victory is not something we strive for in our own strength; it is something God gives. When we humble ourselves before Him, when we seek Him with all our hearts, He answers—not always in the way we expect, but always in the way we need. His response is never weak or uncertain. He moves with power, establishing His victory in the lives of those who trust Him, showcasing the power of God.

More Than Conquerors Through Him

The battles we face may seem overwhelming, but the Word of God reminds us: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37, NASB) Notice the wording—more than conquerors. God does not just help us survive; He makes us victorious beyond what we could have imagined.

Through Him, we do not just endure. We overcome. Our prayers are not empty words thrown into the wind; they are declarations of faith that summon the power of God Almighty. He fights for us, and because of His love, we are never defeated.

Calling Upon the Mighty One

Today, if you feel weary, if the battle seems too strong, remember who fights for you. Lift your voice in prayer, for the Lord is mighty in battle. He does not turn a deaf ear to His children. He hears. He responds. He moves with the power of God.

But as we pray, we must ask ourselves: Are we truly on the Lord’s side? Are we seeking His will above our own? Are we fighting for His kingdom, or are we asking Him to fight for our own causes? The victory belongs to those who align themselves with the Commander of the Lord’s army.

Let us press into His presence with confidence, knowing that the Mighty Warrior stands ready to bring victory into our lives.

Prayer

El Gibbor, Mighty Warrior, we call upon You today. We acknowledge Your strength and power, and we trust that You fight for us. Forgive us for the times we have doubted, for the moments we have feared instead of standing firm in faith. Help us to be on Your side, fully surrendered to Your will. We surrender every battle into Your hands, knowing that You are mighty in battle. Arise, O Lord, and show Yourself strong on our behalf. We believe that through You, we are more than conquerors. In Yeshua’s name, Amen.

Pour Out Your Life

Beloved, hear this truth: your life is not your own. You were bought with a price: the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To pour out your life is not a burden but a privilege, a holy calling to reflect the love and power of God. Yet, I urge you, do not strive in your strength, for man’s work alone is empty. Instead, abide in Him, for it is through His Spirit that you are strengthened and made complete.

Consider the words of Paul, who said, “I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20 AMP). This is the essence of pouring out your life: dying to self and allowing Christ to live through you.

Beloved, do not be deceived by the lie of self-sufficiency. The flesh will fail you, but God’s power is made perfect in your weakness. When you feel weary, remember that His grace is sufficient for you. Rest in His promises and draw near to His presence, for He is not a God who demands without equipping. He has promised, “My power is being perfected [and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP). In your surrender, He will supply all you need.

You are called to serve—not as one who labors for earthly gain, but as a vessel of His glory. Pour out your life as an offering to the Lord, not with the frantic striving of human effort, but with the restful assurance that His Spirit is at work in you. Remember the words of Jesus: “I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing” (John 15:5 AMP). Let your life flow from this union with Him.

Do not measure your service by the world’s standards or seek recognition for your labor. Instead, press into the presence of God, and let Him fill you with His strength and joy. Serve with a heart fully surrendered, trusting that He will accomplish through you far more than you could ever achieve on your own.

Beloved, hear this call:

  • Pour out your life as an act of worship.
  • Rely on His strength, not your own.
  • Rest in His presence, for He is your source of life.

Walk in this truth: Your life poured out in service to God is a fragrant offering pleasing Him. Yet, not only does your effort sustain you, but His Spirit is alive within you. Rest in Him, abide in Him, and let Him do the work through you.

I leave you with this prayer:

Lord God, strengthen Your beloved in their calling. Let their hearts be full of Your Spirit, their hands empowered by Your grace, and their lives poured out for Your glory. May they rest in Your strength and abide in Your presence, bearing fruit that remains for eternity. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Walk boldly, beloved, in the power of His Spirit.

Labor for God with All Your Might

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10, AMP)

Beloved, as evening settles and the weight of the day lingers, let the Word of God stir your heart to action. This life is but a vapor, and the opportunities to serve our Lord are fleeting. The wisdom of Solomon cries out to us: Do not delay, do not withhold, but pour out your life for the glory of God today! For the moments God has given us are sacred; they are not ours to waste but His to redeem.

Do the Work Before You

The Spirit reminds us to begin with what is already in our reach: “whatever your hand finds to do.” This is not a call to dreams of far-off tasks but to faithfulness in the here and now. God’s work begins with today, not tomorrow. We honor Christ not by imagining what we might do, but by faithfully doing what is before us.

Jesus spoke plainly, “He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is also faithful in much” (Luke 16:10, AMP). Let not pride despise the small works—whether serving a child, offering kindness to a stranger, or laboring in your daily calling. These humble deeds carry the fragrance of Christ when done in obedience to Him. Matthew Henry reflects, “Let us do with all our might what lies before us, for life is short and eternity is near.” The moments of today are not to be squandered but used for His glory.

Serve with All Your Heart and Strength

Do not give God half-measures, for He is worthy of your whole being. The apostle Paul exhorts us, “Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men” (Colossians 3:23, AMP). Let this truth resound: God is glorified when we serve Him with zeal, passion, and excellence.

Beloved, do not fall into the trap of delay. Spurgeon warns, “No man ever served God by doing things tomorrow. The present is the only time we possess.” Now is the moment for action. Now is the moment to honor the One who gave His all for you. Bring Him your best, for He gave you His life.

Draw Strength from God Alone

Where does the strength for such wholehearted labor come from? Not from us, for we are but dust. Our might flows from the Lord of Hosts. As the psalmist declares, “The Lord is the strength of His people [their fortress, their refuge, their stronghold]” (Psalm 28:8, AMP). And Isaiah reassures us: “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power” (Isaiah 40:31, AMP).

Begin each labor with prayer, trusting the Spirit to empower you. Do not strive in the weakness of your own flesh, but lean on the eternal strength of God. For it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit that we fulfill His work (Zechariah 4:6).

Redeem the Time

Paul’s words echo the urgency of Solomon’s: “Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately… making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence]” (Ephesians 5:15-16, AMP). The days are evil, and the enemy delights in stealing time from God’s children. But the Spirit of God stirs us to redeem the moments and labor for the eternal.

John Wesley’s call rings true: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” Beloved, let every breath, every action, and every moment of your life resound with the glory of God.

A Call to Faithful Action

Hear this, dear one: The work God has given you today is sacred. Do not despise it. Do not delay it. Give yourself wholly to it. The moments of today are pregnant with eternal purpose. Whether you labor in the field, tend to a family, or minister to the brokenhearted, let it all be done for Christ. And know this: “Your labor in the Lord is not futile [nor wasted—it is never without purpose]” (1 Corinthians 15:58, AMP).

Let the evening find you faithful. Let the setting sun see the fruit of hands and hearts given fully to God.

Lord, we surrender this day and all its labors to You. Forgive us for delay and for giving You less than our best. Strengthen us by Your Spirit to serve You with all our might. Teach us to redeem the time and labor for Your glory. May every work of our hands reflect the love and grace You have poured into us. Amen.
