Statement of Faith
1. The Trinity: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). This Triune God is the creator and sustainer of all things, deserving of our worship and obedience (Colossians 1:16-17).
2. Scripture: We affirm the Bible as God’s inspired and authoritative word, guiding us in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the infallible record of God’s revelation to humanity, fully trustworthy for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness.
3. The Person and Work of Christ: We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, fully God and fully man. Through His sinless life, atoning death, and bodily resurrection, He has made salvation possible for all who trust in Him alone for redemption (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
4. The Holy Spirit: We acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s active presence in the life of believers, empowering and gifting us for service in the church and the world (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit’s work is crucial for personal transformation and the cultivation of a life that reflects Christ (Galatians 5:22-23).
5. Humanity and Salvation: We believe that all people are created in the image of God but have fallen into sin, which separates them from God (Romans 3:23). Salvation is found only through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by human merit or works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
6. The One Church: We recognize the church as the body of Christ, called together by the Holy Spirit through the gospel (1 Corinthians 12:12-13). As one body with many parts, each contributing uniquely and indispensably, we reflect the unity and diversity ordained by God. In the spirit of Psalm 133, we strive for harmony among all believers, celebrating our diversity while affirming our shared faith and mission. This unity exemplifies the beauty and strength of being many parts united in one purpose under Christ our head.
7. The Last Things: We anticipate the return of Jesus Christ, who will reign forever in justice and peace, according to God’s promise (Revelation 22:12). We hold to the hope of the resurrection, where believers will live eternally with God in glory (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
8. Christian Living: We encourage a life of discipleship, marked by spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study, and community (James 1:22). We are called to live out the gospel in word and deed, serving others with the love and humility that Jesus exemplified (John 13:14-15).
9. Mission and Service: We are committed to the Great Commission, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through our words, actions, and relationships (Matthew 28:19-20). We support efforts of peace and justice and seek to address the spiritual and physical needs of our communities and the world.
10. Unity and Exclusivity: We affirm that salvation is available to all through faith in Jesus Christ, irrespective of denominational or organizational affiliation (John 3:16; Romans 10:12-13). We believe that the scriptural line between sin and righteousness does not shift or change with time or culture (James 1:17).
